Slack, inelastic skin has many causes. For example, pregnancy, major weight gain/loss or simply an age-related weakness of connective tissue. The methods of treatment are equally diverse.

Skin tightening with Thermage®

If the skin loses its firmness, loose or sagging belly skin can be the undesired consequence. We at clinic kern know all about these negative side-effects and we specifically target the problem areas with our Thermage treatment: Systematically warming certain layers of the skin stimulates the growth of new collagen which additionally tightens and contours the skin. The result is visibly tighter belly skin.

Upper arm lifting

The advancing processes of ageing or a marked loss of weight can lead to a significant loss of elasticity in the skin of the upper arms. The sagging skin is unattractive and a vexation, particularly when sleeveless tops are worn. We only perform a traditional surgical upper arm lift in exceptional cases as it can leave a slight scar. Sufficient tightening can often be achieved without any scarring: by means of skin-tightening, regenerative measures such as Thermage or a thread lift. Occasionally, it also makes sense to combine these treatments with reducing heavy fatty tissue near the skin by means of liposuction.

Tummy tuck

Serious weight loss, overstretching the elastic fibres during pregnancy or separation of abdominal muscles in the middle – the consequence is always excessive abdominal skin. We employ surgical abdominoplasty to ensure the effective, lasting tightening of the abdominal skin and the underlying connective tissue – for well-being that can be seen and felt. Most stretch marks can also be easily removed with this operation. And, if there is also excessive fat, we recommend combining the treatment with liposuction to ensure that the appearance is permanently improved.

Stretch marks

Stretch marks are caused by overstretching tissue (e.g. through pregnancy, heavy weight gain, large breasts and bodybuilding). Tears occur in the dermis as a result of weakness in the connective tissue and after initial discolouration, they form white scars. Although these scars cannot be completely removed, they can often be significantly reduced, flattened or filled. There are various methods available for this such as acetic acid peels, microneedling or different laser methods. Further information on stretch marks.
